Students are seen on an individual basis for counseling related to social, emotional and academic issues.  Referrals can be made by parents, teachers, staff, friends, and students can even refer themselves.  Parents may request that the school counselor check in with a student because of familiar concerns such as dealing with disease, divorce, loss of a loved one, or as a part of a behavioral management strategy.  Teachers and staff may also make counseling referrals for students related to behavioral and academic issues.  Students may self refer using the self referral form letting the counselor know that they would like to talk about something that is interfering with their academic success.
